Our Work

The Nek Chand Foundation, a registered charity, was formed in 1997 with the aim of supporting Nek Chand's work and raising awareness of the Rock Garden throughout the world.

The Rock Garden staff work to both maintain and develop the area through repairing the existing garden and continuing the construction of Nek Chand's final Phase III.

Several thousand visitors take pleasure in walking through Nek Chand's paradise each day and the Foundation continues to raise awareness of the Rock Garden and to ensure the message it purveys is spread throughout the rest of the world.

The Foundation's projects range from detailed surveys of the Rock Garden to the publishing of much-needed documentary and publicity material. It is also constantly working towards funding new facilities.

In 2001, following the Silver Jubilee visit of delegates from USA and UK to the Rock Garden, The Nek Chand Foundation USA was established in the USA. Hence, with our own growth and friends in Chandigarh, we will continue to support the world's most incredible visionary environment and the great man who created it.
